W Hotels’ First Hotel/Residences in New York
New York, NY – W Hotels Worldwide, and The Moinian Group have joined forces to launch the W New York-Downtown Hotel & Residences, the first globally branded luxury hotel and residences project of its size and scale in Downtown New York and the first W Residential development in Manhattan. Located at 123 Washington Street, just one block from the site of the new Freedom Tower, the W Downtown is a 58-story newly constructed glass-curtained wall building featuring 217 hotel rooms and 223 full-ownership, residential condominium units – 64 furnished condominium units and 159 unfurnished condominium units. Gwathmey Siegel Architects has created the modernist shell exterior of the building and award winning interior design firm GRAFT has lent its signature, avant-garde features to all interior spaces. Completion is anticipated for 2009.

ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
Outside, residents will be greeted by a building with unusual transparency beckoning the sun to stream through and an architectural design containing crisp, clean lines crafted with sleek metal and translucent glass. Inside, free-flowing space between bathroom and Living Spaces, voyeuristic vision panels, rooms feature a flirty, translucent-walled Peek-a-Boo Loo. Continuous built-in furniture flowing between rooms, white Ostrich window seats and white lacquer cabinetry complete an environment radiating with rays of natural light.
RESIDENCES & HOTEL ROOMS
The W New York-Downtown Hotel & Residences contains three components for living: W Furnished Residences, Floors 23-30, are ready-to-move-in residences furnished by Graft. W Residences, Floors 33-56, allow residents to customize their own interiors. Both furnished and non-furnished units include interiors by Graft and are accessible via an exclusive, residents-only entrance. W Hotel rooms, floors 6-22, offer all of the W signature comforts when friends and family come to visit.
The Furnished Residences include Graft-designed furniture, vision panels between living room and bedroom, cabinetry-concealed flat screen televisions, white lacquer kitchen with concealed appliances and lighting, continuous custom Corian white countertops, custom acid etched glass backsplash and sliding doors to conceal living area. Bedrooms contain signature Graft peek-a-boo bathroom behind frosted glass, cabinetry-concealed flat screen televisions, and continuous white leather Ostrich window seats custom-designed by Graft and expansive closets and storage.
Details throughout each residence, furnished and unfurnished, include solid wood doors with chrome entry levers, key fob security technology (clips onto Keychain) and engineered ebony wood floors. Bedrooms consists of transparent shower enclosures, bathrooms contain Graft-designed entry white lacquered sliding doors, custom-designed Graft edge lit mirror and medicine cabinets with sandblasted edges, Italian crocodile-textured porcelain tiling, towel warmers, shower sets with 5 spray patterns and preset temperature and toilets by Toto. White lacquer kitchens with concealed appliances feature stainless steel Miele gas cook tops, ovens and convention/microwave ovens, Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer and washer/dryers.

The W New York-Downtown Hotel & Residences is the first opportunity to be a full-time resident, 365 days a year, offering the W WHATEVER/WHENEVER SERVICES at a W Hotel in New York.
